After-Three

After-Three, our weekday program for children in 1st- 5th grades, provides a safe, structured environment for children to have fun while improving their academic skills. Children work on their homework, eat a healthy snack, and participate in fun activities such as educational computer games, physical education, arts and crafts, field trips, and community service. In our new computer lab, opened in November 2006, children learn to type and use the internet to complete homework assignments. Children learn drumming, hip hop dance, and aikido in the new Wellness Center, opened in October 2006. In FY09, Paul’s Place enrolled 30 elementary-age children in After-Three.

For eight weeks each summer, Paul’s Place operates a summer camp designed to reinforce academic skills, provide wholesome activities for children in our community, and offer experiences the children would not have in Pigtown, including horseback riding, stream walking, and miniature golf. Summer Outings and Camps for Kids is held off-site for six weeks – thanks to Church of the Redeemer, St. James' Church in Monkton, St. John's Church - Western Run, St. Thomas Church in Owings Mills, and Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center. In FY09, 40 children enrolled in Summer Outings and Camps for Kids.
